We understand that organising a wake or celebration of life can be a challenging and emotional experience. Our goal is to provide a smooth, understanding service that aims to make the process as straightforward as possible. 

Our team organises all catering and bar services to help ease the strain of organisation. We have a specific Buffet menu suitable for wakes at all times of day. 

With two rooms of different sizes, our adaptable function spaces are suitable for intimate occasions of under 30 and larger groups. 

Our building hosts fully accessible facilities and is a suitable venue for all ages. 

Portmore is conveniently located on the A361 in the heart of North Devon on the outskirts of Barnstaple. It is only a 15-minute drive away from the North Devon Crematorium, simplifying travel from your Church or Crematorium service. There is ample free parking on-site.

We have many years of experience working with local funeral directors to help with organisation and will happily communicate directly with your chosen director if this is your wish.
