We have an experienced PGA Professional here at Portmore. Dan Wood has been a PGA Professional for over two decades and our PGA Professional for over 6 years.
He began his career as a teaching professional at Royal North Devon Golf Club. He then worked as the Head Professional at Holsworthy Golf Club for four years and set up his own Golf Academy at Ivyleaf Golf Course and Driving Range, which he ran for five years.
Dan is here to help you to improve every aspect of your game. He recognises that no golfer swings their golf club in the same way, but one thing is certain: controlling a golf ball during a round of golf helps to understand the fundamentals.
Dan has experienced success playing in PGA Tournaments over his career, having won County Alliance events, played tournaments in other countries and achieved top finishes in South West PGA events.
At Portmore Golf Academy, we want your golf lesson experience to be enjoyable, friendly and customised to your experience and ability level.
Each individual golf lesson takes place in a private studio at the end of the driving range so that you can learn and improve in a safe and secure environment. There is a large HD TV directly to the side of the hitting bay, so you can view your swing in slow motion easily and efficiently while the lesson takes place.
The excellent facilities at Portmore include two golf courses that are suited to any golfer’s standard, a high-quality 22-bay driving range with Top Tracer technology, and an excellent practice putting green and short game area. These can all maximise your golfing improvement and enjoyment during your golf lessons.
